Sadly Mike lost his short battle with Cholangiocarcinoma on 12th January 2015 at 7.35pm. He fought this nasty, aggressive disease with a courage and strength never seen before. He continued to give 100% to all that he did despite severe tiredness and other nasty side effects of the chemotherapy treatment we had so hoped would slow the disease down and give us more time with him. He worked right up until 3 weeks before he sadly passed. He taught all of us so much over the years and held old school values and morals about life. He would always stand up for others and I recall a couple of occasions when he berated fellow patients in hospital for being rude and disrespectful to the nurses. He held a strong sense of right and wrong and had the most incredible work ethic I've ever seen in someone. An amazing man, father to five, grandfather to six and beloved husband to Diane.
